ABSTRACT:
Ketoconazole was discovered by Janssen Pharmaceutica in 1976. 1% ketoconazole is commonly used, and 2% ketoconazole is used in extreme fungal infections. These shampoos are used to clean hair and shield it from the environment. It gets rid of particles like oil, grease, and dandruff. Because aloe vera and coconut oil offer moisturizing qualities and scalp-soothing effects that can lead to deeply nourished hair follicles, causing less irritation, a combination was made of them to create our ketoconazole anti-dandruff shampoo. Therefore, seborrheic dermatitis, a fungal infection of the scalp that results in dandruff, is treated with ketoconazole shampoo. In essence, the product's pH, viscosity, visual appeal, foamability and stability, surface tension, stability studies, wetting time, and percentage of solids were assessed. Based on these evaluations, this product produced satisfactory results. Additionally, the three batches of anti-dandruff shampoos were made, and a comparison was done accordingly by adding the ingredients such as methyl cellulose, ketoconazole [API], sodium lauryl sulphate as a surfactant, sodium benzoate, aloe vera, coconut oil, PVP, colouring agent, perfume, and water. In particular, the shampoo is made functionally effective.
