ABSTRACT:
Background: Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common form of non-scarring alopecia, characterized by progressive follicular miniaturization influenced by androgenic activity. Conventional treatments such as minoxidil and finasteride are effective but may be limited by adverse effects. Homoeopathy offers a potentially safer complementary approach; however, clinical evidence remains limited. Objective: To evaluate the clinical usefulness, safety, and patient satisfaction associated with a topical homoeopathic cosmeceutical preparation—Homoeopathic Hair Reviver and Thickening Mist (HHR)—in men with AGA. Methods: A retrospective observational case series was conducted in five male patients (aged 29–59 years) diagnosed with AGA and graded using the Modified Hamilton–Norwood Classification System. Patients applied HHR topically for 13 weeks along with oral placebo and were followed up for six months. Primary outcomes included photographic assessment of hair regrowth and stabilization. Secondary outcomes comprised patient-reported satisfaction and adverse event monitoring. Results: All patients demonstrated improvement or stabilization of hair loss at six months. Photographic assessment revealed visible improvement in hair density and scalp coverage. Patient satisfaction was high, and no adverse effects were reported. Conclusion: This case series suggests that topical application of HHR may represent a safe and potentially beneficial cosmeceutical option in the management of AGA. Larger, controlled, and long-term studies are required to confirm efficacy and sustainability of outcomes.
